Billion Leaps to Next Generation Internet Protocol
by Successfully Obtaining IPv6 Ready Logo Certification

Billion Electric Co. Ltd (Taiex:#3027), a leading network equipment provider from Asia-Pacific rim, today announces the receipt of IPv6 Ready Logo Phase I Certification for Billion’s BiPAC 7402R2, ADSL2+ VPN Firewall Router.

IPv6 is designed to supersede the current standard of IPv4 network and is regarded as “Next Generation Internet Protocol”, also known as “IPng”. The most remarkable change in IPv6 is the improvement on the number of address available for network devices from 32-bits used by IPv4 to 128-bits address spaces. There are also other great improvements on IPv6 such as fast routing, automatic network management to provide better Internet service quality and higher network reliability.

IPv6 Ready Logo Program sponsored by the IPv6 Forum , a non-profit organisation with a clear mission to promote IPv6, is to give unique IPv6 Ready logo for affirmative recognition to a equipment which has successfully satisfied IPv6 requirement and interoperability test.

Upon completing hundreds of test items including mandatory core protocols and interoperability with other IPv6 equipments in the Phase I program, Billion’s BiPAC 7402R2 has successfully passed all the qualifications and is granted IPv6 Ready Logo Phase I.
