BILLION launches its new power-saving HomePlug AV 200 Ethernet Bridge Series - BiPAC 2071 and BiPAC 2072 (with AC Pass Through)

(Taiex: #3027) a major international network equipment and solution provider, announces its new HomePlug AV 200 Ethernet bridge series: BiPAC 2071 – HomePlug AV 200 Wall Plug Ethernet Adapter and BiPAC 2072 – HomePlug AV 200 Ethernet Bridge with AC Pass Through. This new range is designed to cater to the growing demand for bandwidth-consuming applications (e.g. IPTV; video-on-demand, such as Olympic Games coverage; VoIP; online games) and energy efficiency. The BiPAC 2071 (HomePlug AV 200 Wall Plug Ethernet Adapter) is a wall plug Ethernet adapter. The BiPAC 2072 (HomePlug AV 200 Ethernet Bridge with AC Pass Through) is an Ethernet bridge, featuring an extra noise-free power outlet - AC Pass Through. This handy add-on offers users an additional power extension for other electrical devices with limited wall outlets nearby. With noise filtering, the BiPAC 2072 enhances power-line communications coverage within the home when the AC Pass Through outlet is used by the appliance. Compliant with the latest HomePlug AV standards which support data speeds of up to 200Mbps, the BiPAC 2071 and BiPAC 2072 can be used to bridge Ethernet devices such as modems, routers, PCs, set-top-boxes, and game consoles, enabling users to share network access via existing in-home power lines. Both units feature an elegant white casing designed to cater for the digital home.

Billion launched HomePlug AV 200 Desktop Ethernet Bridge series – BiPAC 2070 and BiPAC 2070P (with 12V DC adapter) previously in February this year. In response to the current demand for energy efficiency, Billion has developed the BiPAC 2071 and BiPAC 2072 with a new “Power Saving” feature. This feature enables the BiPAC 2071 and BiPAC 2072 to automatically detect its Ethernet connection. If no Ethernet device is being used, the BiPAC 2071 and BiPAC 2072 will automatically go into sleep mode, which cuts power consumption by at least 60%, increasing energy efficiency and saving money on your electricity bill. Just plug the BiPAC 2071 and BiPAC 2072 into any power outlet, and data signals can be transmitted through the power lines, enabling users to easily set up a secure and fast in-home LAN. The BiPAC 2071 and BiPAC 2072 does not require the time and money needed to install expensive Ethernet cables throughout your house in order to share your home network, nor does it require any drilling. It is also a good solution if you have problems of using wireless LAN connection in your home environment. Just one touch of the “Sync” button to install the bridge utility, and your high-speed network is ready. The BiPAC 2071 and BiPAC 2072 automatically recognizes the bandwidth needs of voice and video applications and guarantees optimal transmission quality by automatically prioritizing data with Quality of Service (QoS) control. The bridge supports superior and noise-immune data transmission over in-home electrical power lines. Even at the moment your family turns on an electronic device or turns off a light, you won’t experience any interruption to latency-sensitive applications, such as multimedia or video being shared with your family in another room.

The BiPAC 2071 and BiPAC 2072 support 128-bit AES Link Encryption for secure power line communications. By using this technology, users will be able to enjoy high-speed Internet access and transmit data securely. At the same time, support for the auto MDI/MDIX function makes sure that the BiPAC 2071 and BiPAC 2072 can be connected to Ethernet devices such as Billion ADSL2+ router series.
