Bank of Taiwan approves BILLION as first local vendor of SSL VPN network gateways for government procurement

Billion Electric Co., Ltd. (Taiex: #3027) a major international network equipment and solution provider, announces that Bank of Taiwan's Department of Procurement has approved Billion as a qualified vendor of SSL VPN networking equipment for its enterprise-class BiGuard SSL VPN SME security gateway. In a significant step forward, this event permits Billion to provide government authorities or public sector organizations with more valuable remote access solutions and better quality of services.

Bank of Taiwan (BOT) is the largest government-owned financial institution in Taiwan. Its Department of Procurement - known as Central Trust Bureau before its merger with BOT - has acted in a lead role in managing domestic and overseas purchases for government organizations, public-sector institutions and schools. This is in accordance with the provisions of Government Procurement Law to evaluate all of the interested suppliers and speed up the open tendering procedures. Billion's BiGuard S6000 (Gigabit Dual-WAN SSL/IPSec VPN SME Security Gateway) - featuring gigabit connectivity and advanced SSL VPN features - is approved in the government procurement directory of "Computer Networking Equipment" for three different levels of concurrent user SSL VPN access - for 50, 100, and 250-user access respectively.
