Billion showcases enterprise-class BiGuard SSL VPN Gigabit SME appliance series at CeBIT Hannover 2008

For SMB network solutions, Billion launches its enterprise-class BiGuard SSL VPN Gigabit SME appliance series – BiGuard S6000 and BiGuard S3000 (Gigabit Dual-WAN SSL/IPSec VPN Security Gateway) – featuring Gigabit connectivity and advanced SSL VPN features, offering SME organizations high-performance, easy-to-manage and secure remote access with up to 200 concurrent SSL VPN tunnels. Billion also launches its brand-new BiPAC 7402X Dual-WAN 3G/ADSL2+ VPN Router series with an integrated USB port for connecting a 3G/HSDPA USB modem for home or SOHO applications. The Auto Fail-over feature ensures users an always-on connectivity, backed up by 3G networks. For “Digital Home and Broadband Access” Billion demonstrates a wide range of new products. The BiPAC 2070 HomePlug AV 200 Desktop Ethernet Bridge series, a 200Mbps Ethernet-over-power bridge, delivers the super-fast connectivity needed for High Definition home networks, enabling users to easily set up a data network using in-home power lines and share bandwidth-consuming applications such as video, IPTV and video-on-demand with family throughout the house. The next generation Draft 802.11n ADSL2+ Firewall Router range – the BiPAC 5200N, BiPAC 7300N and BiPAC 7402NX will also be showcased. With an integrated Wireless 802.11n Access Point, this router series enables users to experience the ultimate in wireless speed and coverage. It delivers faster data rate speeds of up to 300Mbps; approximately 6 times the speed and 3 times the coverage of the current 802.11g standard.

Cutting-edge SSL VPN technology has been adopted for easy and clientless remote access using Internet browsers. Since 2006 Billion has introduced its full range of BiGuard SSL VPN security appliances, including the BiGuard S5, S10, and S20, Billion has been awarded several awards by the leading IT media. Managing varying user groups and accounts can be a hassle for IT administrators, yet the BiGuard SSL VPN Giga SME Appliance Series address this issue. This series features the AD/LDAP Account Import, enabling IT administrators to manage intranets by importing existing accounts from AD/LDAP servers into a BiGuard SSL VPN device. Group Account Setting makes it easy for IT administrators to set up and grant different kinds of user groups access to certain access applications. If an IT administrator needs to set up many "sales" users in a single group who need to retrieve price information and other files through the intranet while traveling, administrators can easily group them and configure authorized applications for that group. The Group Account Settings feature saves the effort of setting up various kinds of users and access authorizations by replacing this with a simple one-time setup.

Access security with the BiGuard SSL VPN Giga SME Appliance Series, no matter locally or from remote sites, is assured with these comprehensive security features. The cache cleaner function support ensures that users’ data will be cleaned up without leaving records after these users log out from a remote site. The End Point Security function enables IT administrators to check the identity of a remote PC and its security policy settings when a user attempts to log in from that device. Granular Access Control makes it possible to allow different users to access different applications. Access Policy settings enable administrators to set up different users with different access rules. Strong firewall security provides access protection from hackers and other attacks.

In case of a growing need for remote access, Billion has also made a total SSL VPN solution and management options possible at the user's request. The SSL VPN Tunnel Upgrades are dedicated to facilitate BiGuard SSL VPN gateway users to increase the number of SSL VPN tunnels by purchasing “Upgrades Licenses”. The BiGuard One-Time Password (OTP), a car-key sized security token, is used to create a two-factor authentication by using a dynamically generated 6-digit PIN. Combined with your existing static password this results in a greatly reduced risk of unauthorized access to corporate network resources by intruders. BiGuard OTP tokens are also available with the BiGuard SSL VPN Giga SME Appliance Series, or as optional purchase. The Central Management System (CMS) enables administrators in the head office or service providers to centrally manage all the BiGuard SSL devices from a central site to save on maintenance efforts. In addition the BiGuard SSL VPN Giga SME Appliance Series provides users with online technical support - the MSN-like, web-based InstantChat Support, 5x8 Service, during office hours. This support service is offered as a courtesy for the first 180 days from product registration, and can be extended for a nominal fee.

In response to the popularity of 3G modems with a USB interface, Billion is strategically offering users networking products with a USB port for 3G backup. The BiPAC 7402X Dual-WAN 3G/ADSL2+ VPN Router series offers a dual interface for an ADSL2+ or a 3G/HSDPA USB modem, a perfect example of the next generation of communications for homes or SOHOs. With dual-WAN capability, the BiPAC 7402X series supports Auto Fail-over features, ensuring a stable Internet connection. If an ADSL line fails, the BiPAC 7402X series will connect via 3G to deliver uninterrupted connectivity. The BiPAC 7402X series also supports embedded IPSec VPN (Virtual Private Network) protocols for secure VPN connections. In addition the casing is designed to cater for both the office environment and the digital home. It allows for the sharing of Internet connections. If a user is in a briefing, at a meeting, a customer's site, exhibition or event, or on the road, it can even use VPN connections to access the corporate intranet from remote sites. By using the BiPAC 7402X series, users can stay connected and secure, anywhere at anytime, and "create their own portable hotspot".

Compliant with the latest HomePlug AV standards, which supports data speeds of up to 200Mbps, the BiPAC 2070 HomePlug AV 200 Desktop Ethernet Bridge series can be used to bridge Ethernet devices such as modems, routers, PCs, set-top-boxes, and game consoles, allowing users to share network access via existing in-home power cabling. Unlike others, this series does not get hot, is easy to install, and is a good solution for media streaming. Just plug the BiPAC 2070 series into any power outlet, and data signals can be transmitted through the power lines. Available products: the BiPAC 102 HomePlug AV 200 Desktop Starter Kit, bundling two BiPAC 2070 Ethernet bridges, and the BiPAC 2070P, which includes a built-in 12V DC adapter, which will later only be available as part of the BiPAC P101 (HomePlug AV 200 Desktop Enabling Kit). This enabling kit is designed to be included in a HomePlug AV Router Pack, of which a router model is chosen according to the buyer’s preference among Billion’s ADSL router portfolio with a power input of 12V DC, 1.2A or below.

The Draft 802.11n ADSL2+ Firewall Router range is another product focus. The BiPAC 5200N/7300N (Draft 802.11n ADSL2+ Firewall Router) is an ADSL2+ Router with the latest 802.11n technology; perfect for home and SOHO users who want extreme mobility, higher speed, and better wireless coverage, while maintaining high-level security for their Internet connection. With an integrated 802.11n Wireless Access Point, the router delivers up to 300Mbps. That is 6 times faster speed and 3 times bigger wireless range than an 802.11b/g network. The 3 built-in antennas can effectively search for wireless signals and adjust for an optimal connection when an obstacle is found. The BiPAC 7402NX (Draft 802.11n 3G/ADSL2+ VPN Firewall Router with USB 2.0 port) is an advanced Dual-WAN model for SOHO users who want high-speed wireless technology as well as extreme mobility with 3G backup and VPN security features. With the Draft 802.11n ADSL2+ Firewall Router it is possible to share a high-speed Internet connection with family or colleagues at work from anywhere, resulting in more efficiently running applications such as music downloading, online gaming, and video streaming.

The BiGuard S6000, BiPAC 7402X series, BiPAC 2070 series and BiPAC 5200N will be available in the first quarter of 2008, and Billion plans to roll out the BiGuard S3000 and BiPAC 7402NX, and BiPAC 7300N in the second quarter of 2008.
